Adrienne Ehlert Bashista, co-editor of and contributor to Easy to Love but Hard to Raise: Real Parents, Challenging Kids, True Stories, will speak about the book, the stresses of raising a child with invisible special needs, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) and her personal journey as the parent of a child with a variety of alphabet soup diagnoses at the Cabarrus County Public Library in Concord, NC, at 2 p.m. February.
In addition to the book, Bashista also owns and moderates two group blogs and Facebook pages about parenting kids with special needs: Easy to Love but Hard to Raise (blog) and Easy to Love (Facebook page), and A Mom’s View of ADHD (blog) and A Mom’s View of ADHD (Facebook page). She is also the founder of Families Affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FAFASD), an organization that supports families raising children with FASD. She speaks and writes frequently about the challenges of caring for a child whose brain-based disability manifests itself behaviorally. Her next two books are Easy to Love but Hard to Teach: Parents and Teachers Speak Out, and Finding Our Way: Homeschooling Children with Invisible Special Needs.
